Click to expand.There's an activation card that comes with the device for the software with a serial number on it that states to keep the number handy when having to re-install the software. However, there is no activation over the Internet done, so in a sense it won't know how many Macs it's been on. Of course I'm not suggesting for anyone to install it on 10 macs, but what this means is that it can't be locked to one machine.The serial # is probably wrong or from a previous version of EyeTV. EyeTV 2 is great and is still included in the EyeTV 200 if you can find it.
The device is great and works well with the software. I don't understand why they went to EyeTV 250 with USB connectivity. Firewire is more stable and to me the 200 looks better and feels to have more options.
